Setup & Firewall Guide

PcWisp uses mDNS (Multicast DNS) to allow your phone and PC to find each other automatically. To ensure a smooth connection, please follow these steps.

1. Windows Firewall Settings

Crucial Step: When you first run the PcWisp Receiver, Windows may ask for network permissions.

Ensure "Private networks" is checked.
Click "Allow access".
If the app cannot connect, ensure port 9999 is open in your firewall.

2. macOS Permissions

Open the PcWisp Receiver.
If prompted, allow the application to receive incoming network connections.
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and ensure PcWisp is enabled.

3. Linux (Ubuntu) Setup

You must grant execution permissions to the downloaded file:

chmod +x PcWisp_Ubuntu

Also, ensure the avahi-daemon is running for mDNS support.
