Setup & Firewall Guide
PcWisp uses mDNS (Multicast DNS) to allow your phone and PC to find each other automatically. To ensure a smooth connection, please follow these steps.
1. Windows Firewall Settings
Crucial Step: When you first run the PcWisp Receiver, Windows may ask for network permissions.
- Ensure "Private networks" is checked.
- Click "Allow access".
- If the app cannot connect, ensure port 9999 is open in your firewall.
2. macOS Permissions
- Open the PcWisp Receiver.
- If prompted, allow the application to receive incoming network connections.
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and ensure PcWisp is enabled.
3. Linux (Ubuntu) Setup
You must grant execution permissions to the downloaded file:
chmod +x PcWisp_Ubuntu
Also, ensure the avahi-daemon is running for mDNS support.
